Ninian, a Briton by birth, travelled to Rome to study, soaking up all the Christian knowledge he could get his hands on. Then, he returned to his homeland, setting his sights on converting the Picts and other tribes in what’s now southern Scotland.
Now, Ninian wasn’t just about preaching. He was a builder, too. He’s credited with constructing the “White House” (Candida Casa), a stone church that became a major centre of Christianity in the region. Imagine the sheer effort of building a stone structure in those days! That’s dedication.
He travelled extensively, establishing churches and spreading the faith. His influence reached far beyond Scotland, impacting the development of Christianity in the surrounding areas. He was a true pioneer, a man who forged a path for others to follow.
