All About All Saints'

Reaching out, making disciples and growing in God.

All Saints’ is a Church and a community committed to bringing the living faith of Jesus Christ to all who cross its threshold or meet its people.

Our worship is offered in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England, where Christ is present in the beauty of holiness and the sacraments. Through good music, reflective preaching, and intelligent engagement with the scriptures, we hope to sustain and nourish people in the faith.

Jesus Christ welcomed people whatever their story, background or situation, so you will find a warm welcome at All Saints’, whoever you are.

Why not come and visit us? Our main worship is the Parish Eucharist (also called ‘Mass’ or ‘Holy Communion’) on Sundays at 10:00am. We are proud to be warm in our welcome and hospitable in our worship. If you have children, they are warmly welcome at our services and in our Children’s Church on Sundays. We also hold a midweek mass on Wednesday at 9:30am in the Holy Spirit Chapel.

We work hard to reach out to the neediest in our Parish, through links to the Finchley Foodbank and the Barnet Nightshelter and we are connected to many community groups and clubs through our members.

We would love to welcome you into our Church – click here for more details of our services.

History

All Saints’ is a Church of England church in Oakleigh Road North, north London. The church is variously referred to as All Saints’ N20, All Saints’ Friern Barnet, All Saints’ Whetstone, or “the one with the spire.”

It is a grade II listed building.

The church was built in 1882 to an Early English Gothic Revival design by the architect Joseph Clarke. The body of the church consists of a nave with north and south aisles and an apsidal chancel, and there is a tower with a spire at the north-west corner, which was recently extensively renovated after bits started to fall off.

The interior has murals by Thomas Gambier Parry.

The present incumbent is Rev Gospel Iwuoha; he is only the seventh person to hold the position, taking up the role at the end of 2024.

Support All Saints'

All Saints’ is a self-supporting community. The cost of our buildings and the ministry of the clergy is met through the generosity of our people, and through monies raised by renting our halls. People also generously support other charities during Lent and at other points during the year.

Our building is very beautiful but the costs of keeping a Grade II listed building are very high. In recent years we have had to repair the spire and we also need to reheat, rewire and relight our buildings.

Anything that you might be able to give will support our ministry to the needy and our historic heritage.

Thank you!
